Pricing
What does Haliscope cost?
Taking the assessment and seeing a shortened preview of your results is free. The full report is $10.00, paid once. There is no subscription and no upsell after purchase.
What’s in the free preview?
A shortened version of your results — enough to see the shape of your trait profile and whether the analysis is telling you anything new. The full report adds all eleven scores in detail, the three career pathways, fit analysis for occupations you name, the language analysis, and your roadmap.
Do I have to pay before I see anything?
No. You complete the assessment and see the preview first. The decision to buy comes after you’ve seen what the analysis produced for you specifically.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If your report didn’t meet your expectations, contact us and tell us what fell short, and we’ll refund you in full. Refunds are limited to one per customer.
Can I retake it later?
Yes, and every six to twelve months is a sensible rhythm. Traits are stable over years rather than weeks, so a retake two weeks later won’t tell you much — but across that kind of gap your circumstances and what you want from work often have moved, and the comparison against your earlier results is the interesting part. Starting a new assessment leaves the old one and its report untouched, so you keep both.
Taking the assessment
How long does it take?
About 20 minutes for 42 questions. Some are written responses and one is timed, so it’s worth doing in a single sitting when you’re not rushed.
Do I have to upload a resume?
It substantially improves the result. Your history is what lets the assessment compare you to people actually doing the work, rather than to a generic norm, and grounds the pathways in what you’ve already built. If you’d rather not, describe your background in your own words instead.
What kinds of questions are there?
Written responses, forced rankings, rated statements, multiple choice, and a timed exercise. Several formats exist because each has different failure modes, and using more than one reduces the chance that all of them fail in the same direction.
Can I pause and come back?
Yes, your progress is saved. The timed exercise needs to be completed in one go once started, but the rest can wait.
Is there a right answer?
No — and answering the way you think you should produces a report about a person who doesn’t exist. This matters most in the written responses: the analysis reads how you write as well as what you write, and a performance is usually visible in the language.
Your results
Do I get a personality type?
No, and that’s deliberate. Traits are continuously distributed — most people sit somewhere in the middle rather than at either pole. Haliscope reports where you fall on each of eleven scales and what that implies for specific occupations, instead of rounding you to the nearest label.
What’s actually in the report?
Your complete trait breakdown with a radar visualisation; three strategic career pathways at increasing distance from where you are now; scored fit analysis for occupations you name yourself; qualitative analysis of your self-belief patterns, communication style, and motivations; and a roadmap tying the insights to next steps.
How fast do I get it?
A minute or two, written while you wait. There is no waiting period of days and nothing arrives by email later. The report stays in your account, so you can sign in and come back to it whenever you like.
What if the report is wrong about me?
Tell us. A report specific enough to be useful is specific enough to be wrong, and disconfirming cases are the only thing that improves an instrument. Known limitations are published on the methodology page.
Science and scoring
Is this just an AI wrapper?
No. We are a real team and this is a real product.
Team: We are a US-based team of 5, and have spent over a year building and refining this assessment. We’re committed to making this the best product it can be, to equip today’s career-discerners to find joy and dignity in their work. We respond to our support email — please feel free to get in touch.
Product: The eleven dimensions are Haliscope’s own, developed from the HEXACO personality model and Holland’s RIASEC interest framework, and each carries a written definition the analysis is held to rather than left to a model’s intuition. A language model reads your written answers against those definitions. What follows is not a model’s opinion at all: your profile is scored against O*NET occupational data by fixed rules, with the same weights and tolerances for everyone.
Why should I trust the results?
Because you can check the work. The methodology page sets out how the eleven traits are derived, how scoring works, and where the known limitations are — including the ones that are inconvenient for us. Occupational matching uses O*NET data published by the U.S. Department of Labor.
What are HEXACO and RIASEC?
HEXACO is a six-factor model of personality published in 2004, which adds honesty-humility to the Big Five — explained in full here. RIASEC is Holland’s six-dimension model of vocational interest from 1959, and remains the organising framework for most career guidance. Both are covered in the history.
Are you affiliated with the Department of Labor?
No. Haliscope is built on O*NET, the occupational database published by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration, under its developer license. There is no partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement, and the license explicitly prohibits implying one.
How does this compare to the MBTI or 16Personalities?
We’ve written it up properly rather than summarising it here: vs. the MBTI, vs. 16Personalities, vs. Enneagram, vs. the Big Five, vs. CliftonStrengths.
Privacy and data
What happens to my responses?
They are used to produce your report and to improve the assessment. Your report stays available to you in your account. What we keep, for how long, and who we share it with is set out in full in the Privacy Policy.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not sell the inferences we draw from it. Running the product does mean a small number of processors handle parts of it — payments, analytics, and the AI that writes your report — and the Privacy Policy names them.
Can my employer see my results?
No. Your report is yours. Haliscope is not validated for hiring or screening decisions and is not sold for that purpose, and it is not a clinical or diagnostic instrument either.
Can I delete my data?
Write to us and ask. We will act on it within 30 days. Some records — payments, chiefly — we are required to keep for tax and accounting purposes; the Privacy Policy explains which and why.
Ready when you are
